He Has Led Many Major Newspapers

In addition to overseeing major trade publications, Levinsohn has overseen a variety of newspapers that are distributed throughout the United States. These papers include the Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times and Orlando Sentinel.

Ross Levinsohn Spent Six Years With Fox Interactive Media

In 2000, Levinsohn was hired to lead a small company called Fox Interactive Media. By the time he left the organization in 2006, it had transformed itself into a national media juggernaut. Today, you likely know the broadcaster as Fox Sports One, and it broadcasts a variety of baseball, soccer and basketball games. It also covers professional wrestling events, major college football matchups and other significant events.

Levinsohn Was a Venture Capitalist for Several Years

Starting in 2014, Levinsohn worked for a venture capital firm called Whisper Advisers. During his three years with the company that he founded, he would partner with dozens of technology startups. As of June 2021, Levinsohn had roughly 30 private companies in his portfolio.

Ross Levinsohn Makes the Move to Sports Illustrated and Maven

In October 2019, Levinsohn would be hired as the new CEO of Sports Illustrated, and he was tasked with helping the slumping brand find a way to recover market share that it had lost over the past two decades. Under his leadership, the magazine was able to accomplish its goal and reestablish itself as one of the top publications in the sports world.

In August 2020, Maven would hire him to replace their departing founder. Maven is a publishing company that provides Sports Illustrated with the tools it needs to distribute and market its content.
